With Jean spiraling out of control, and hurting the ones she loves most, she begins to unravel the very fabric that holds the X-Men together. CAST: James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, SOphie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Lodi Smith McPhee, Evan Peters, Jessica Chastain.
GENRE: Action, Adventure

WHAT I LIKE?

Well, the fact that Quicksilver is here despite a limited screen time makes it bearable to say the least.

WHAT I DON’T LIKE?

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is truly a disappointing way to end the X-Men Franchise. I am not a fan of the comics so my Movie review will be based on the movie alone. For me, it was good but I think they really lack the most essential thing in any superhero movie – the PLOT. The whole concept of the Dark Phoenix was put into waste through shallow interpretations & lack of emphasis & intensity considering that this Arc of the X-Men  Series should be very terrifying & devastating. It lacked the catastrophic feel we should be worrying about the Dark Phoenix. What happens in the movie are tidbits of action sequences and some poor characterization of some of the leads & supporting roles. I think they could have expounded the Solar Flare’s background so as to contribute on the fact that Jean Grey could posses the most powerful tool among all mutants. Sadly, I didn’t feel that way. It felt like the movie was a compliance to just end the Franchise with a lackluster installment. For me, you can pass this on cinemas.

WHAT I LIKE?

Everything you waited after 22 films of the Marvel Universe has come to the most memorable cinematic masterpiece ever made. Avengers: End Game concluded the worldwide phenomenon with a big bang. Though fans expected how the End Game will turn out, it just magical and surreal to see the film on theaters despite spoilers and leaked videos. As a true Marvel Fan, you can never deny the fact that the movie has become a part of your life through the years. With this epic conclusion, you are ready for quite an emotional ride and End Game really brought their best foot forward. What I like about End Game is how the Director played with Intimate Conversations & Flashbacks to prepare for what lies ahead the lives of our beloved Superheroes. I haven’t read the comics so my review will purely rely on the movies alone. Others may find the first part to be boring and lazy but for me, those parts are the best. The movie showed the vulnerability of the superheros thus making them relatable to their audience and established a stronger and deeper connection to these characters we all loved from the beginning. This part was necessary. In all fairness, the Marvel Universe has given to-notch action sequences that is worth every price of your admission ticket. Also, how I loved the fact that End Game gave a fairly good amount of screen time and focus with Black Widow & Hawkeye who are actually the pure humans in the original Avengers. I know Spoilers have already died down as of writing but watching Avengers: End Game on the big screen is really the best thing to give back to this amazing cinematic masterpiece ever created. After all the melodramatic sequences on the first part, nothing will prepare you from the epic battle and climax that will surely be one in the books for MCU Fans out there. I was literally screaming and crying while watching the end part. Well, I must say that Avengers: End Game delivered its promise to end the saga with a big bang.

WHAT I DON’T LIKE?

Well, Thor has no abs in this film. That’s definitely a SPOILER LOL!

FILM INFO

Carol Danvers becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. The latest superhero movie in Marvel Comics Universe is directed by Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck under Marvel Studios.

CAST: Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lasgana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Annette Being, Clark Gregg, Jude Law, McKenna Grace, Ama Ayora, Colin Ford & Kenneth Mitchell.

GENRE: Science-Fiction, Adventure

WHAT I LIKE?

Captain Marvel is the first ever movie in the Marvel Comics Universe that showcased a female superhero lead which is I think very iconic ad very empowering to say the least. As the Avengers; Infinity War positioned Captain Marvel’s role to be very important and vital especially on Avengers: End Game – the most anticipated superhero movie yet. The movie brings nostalgia as it brought us to the 90’s era and the early years of Nick Furry and SHIELD. What I like about the film is its consistency from its supernatural world down to the 90’s period. Since there are both worlds, the movie gave a good compromise in terms of Production Design & Plot design as a whole. Brie Larson was perfect for the role. Her charm and angst were such a solid reason to watch this. Overall, Captain Marvel is a fun-flick.

WHAT I DON’T LIKE?

In as much as I would like to adore Captain Marvel’s charm, but this movie is for me the most lackluster and lousiest movie in the MCU. Perhaps, the release date of the movie doesn’t add much anticipation for the upcoming Avengers; End Game. I guess they could have released Captain Marvel somewhere before Infinity War. Well, spare me the comparison but Wonder Woman is much more compelling and empowering. I find it a lazy move of MCU to introduce Captain Marvel at the height of everything. Narrative-wise, its a bit weak and off for me at some points. They have invested more on self-discovery and they veered away from going deeper to the special powers and the big role of Captain Marvel in the End Game. Also, the movie felt flat in terms of actions. Well, it is good but not as good as I expected it to be considering the movie will give hype for End Game.

GENRE: Action, Adventure, Science-Fiction

WHAT I LIKE?

After all the negative reviews spreading prior I watched Venom, those were actually my early warning device thing. However, after watching Venom, I actually want to tell everyone that not all Critics reviews are applicable to everyone. In my case, I actually loved VENOM. Being a stand-alone movie in the Marvel Universe and from having a connection to the Spider-verse, Venom did not disappoint for me. What I like about this Marvel movie its solid foundation in terms of conflict material. It started very in cohesive manner actually. With the right blend of Eddie as a journalist down to his downfall after finding out the dark secrets of LIFE Foundation. The sequences are pretty engaging from beginning to end. I loved the Action Scenes, It was executed very well. Overall, CGI effects are superb especially on the fighting scenes, Considering its DARK THEME, I actually find the comedy very appropriate and in good timing contrary to most movie reviews online. I loved the VILLAIN too. But I must commend Tom Hardy’s epic and award-winning performance. He was a perfect fit for the role and I couldn’t think of anyone who can portray the role very well.  The film is DARK but it is the nature of VENOM. I also commend the Cinematography and Musical Scoring. VENOM has the right blend for it to become a B-Movie and a Marvel Universe support character, but after watching it, I was craving for more if it especially if they plan out for a Sequel. Give chance for VENOM. This movie might be one of your favorite Marvel movies so far.

WHAT I DON’T LIKE?

CGI Effects are good but the FINAL ACTION SCENE was a bit lackluster. I hope for some intensity and longer screen time too. But, the movie is still good!

WHAT I LIKE?

Ant-man and the Wasp is a worthy sequel and Marvel Movie that gave variety to the Marvel Universe. What I like about the 2nd installment of the Ant-Man Franchise is its solid foundation of follow-up story and character development that is truly necessary for it to surpass the glory and highs of the first film. The whole plot was cohesive and very engaging as it gave respect to the first film and added an impressive answers and resolutions expected of a sequel. What I love about Ant-Man and the Wasp is that it raised the bar higher in terms of visual effects and cinematography. I loved how they utilized the small-big transformer thing plus the action sequences were brilliantly-executed at most scenes. Sound Design was good too. I really like the variety and mixture of action, comedy and thrills in the entire movie. Thanks to Paul Rudd’s charm and Michael Pena’s epic scenes. The charm of Paul Rudd is still undeniably strong on the 2nd film. Of course, the chemistry with Evangeline Lilly is really good on-screen too. Their tandem in action scenes were one of the movies’ highlights. Ant-man and the Wasp offers a refreshing masterpiece for the Marvel Universe. Highly-recommended to all Marvel fans out there.

WHAT I DON’T LIKE?

So far, everything is forgivable since I enjoyed the movie from beginning to end.

FILM INFO

The mercenary Deadpool joins forces with three mutants — Bedlam, Shatterstar and Domino — to protect a boy from the all-powerful Cable. The second installment of Deadpool is directed by David Leitch under 20th Century Fox.

Casts: Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Morena Baccarin, Julian Dennison, Zazie Beetz, T.J. Miller, Brianna Hildebrand

Genre: Action, Adventure

WHAT I LIKE?

Deadpool 2 is far way better than its predecessor with a top notch higher in terms of action sequences, cinematography and character development. What I like about Deadpool 2 is its big improvement while retaining the same R-16 content & breed of violence and meta gags you come to expect from the Deadpool franchise. The 2nd installment has lots of pop culture references that are truly relatable and entertaining. Its fully loaded with witty and highly-engaging conversations and dynamic sequences garnished with impressive Visual editing and bad-ass sound engineering. Knowing the brand of the Deadpool entertainment, the 2nd movie never failed to impress its audience. This time, there’s a solid X-Men crossover which will truly excite fans out there. Acting chops are impressive especially Ryan Reynolds. His charm and humor is a pure cinematic masterpiece. Other supporting leads were also good. The X-Men crossover feel is such a joy to watch on screen. Deadpool 2 is indeed one of Marvel’s best in a different genre they are trying to fit in. Highly-recommended.

WHAT I DON’T LIKE?

The movie has R-16 content from violence to offensive languages so this is not suitable for everybody specially for younger audiences.

Avengers: Infinity War

FILM INFO

The Avengers and their Super Hero allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe. The biggest gathering of Marvel superheroes is directed by Anthony & Joe Russo under Walt Disney Pictures.
Cast: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Don Cheadle, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Tom Hiddleston, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Idris Elba, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, Benecio del Toro, Josh Brolin, Chris Pratt, William Hurt & Letitia Wright.
Genre: Action, Adventure, Fantasy

WHAT I LIKE?

If you are a die-hard fan of the Marvel universe, Avengers: Infinity Wars will easily be your most favorite superhero movie of all-time as it offer a quality level of entertainment from beginning to end. If you have watched all other movies since 2008, you will feel that emotional attachment especially that Infinity War is a major turnaround of the franchise. Don’t worry, this review is SPOILER-FREE so I won’t be leaking any major points and scenes in the movie. I will purely assess its technicalities and the emotions I have felt after watching this amazing movie. Plot-wise, I have set my expectations outside the Comics version. I have followed the whole Marvel Universe based on the movies released and not whats written on the comics. Primarily, the movie has set a trend of reinventing the version expected by its fans. Well, who loves the element of surprise and twists anyways. The movie did an amazing job in bringing all the superheros together (with the absence of Hawkeye and Ant-man based on the poster and billing). Who could have imagined bringing them all together. That fact alone is worth your admission ticket already. If you have a background of the other previous movies, you will easily pick up the pieces and the rational behind their characterizations and even connections with the other Avengers. I loved how the Russo brothers played with the whole Avengers and interconnected them on their worlds. Of course, all of them leads to fighting the biggest villain so far – Thanos. It is amazing how everything perfectly fits despite a very jam-packed movie. I mean, a lot has been happening but this is primarily because its a huge movie after all. Despite many characterization, Russo Brothers brilliantly executed all scenes in unison with the film’s premise. Action sequences are the best so far in terms of Hollywood Movies of the same genre. CGI effects are impressive. Amidst its gigantic production design and cinematography, the Marvel humor is still there to lighted up the mood every time. Avengers: Infinity War is rightful conclusion and build-up of the previous Marvel movies 10 years ago. For us fans, its a great delight to seem them all together in one whole movie. As per the emotional aspect, hats off for bringing in a whirlwind of emotions. I won’t spoil why but the movie was able to affect me so many ways. It is worth-watching all-over again.
