WHAT I LIKE?

Toy Story 4 truly honored its roots especially to the service they have rendered to Andy down to their new kid Bonnie. Aside from that, they were able to send a heart-warming message and a very sentimental turnaround of the whole mission and life of Woody. What I like about the 4th installment is that it never get tired of going through the same plot and conflict thus presenting it in a very calm manner this time. It may be less adventurous this time but the movie gave a worthy resolution especially to Woody. I really loved how the contrast of stories from both “toy worlds” complimented on the final scene. Everything was just smooth and light to carry. I loved how they used a Semi-Villain in the film. At least, there were no exaggerations this time. I think they focused purely on emotions paving way for that resolution we all wanted. It still have the characters we loved but “Forky” as the newest Toy character is just adorable & funny. Aside from an impressive visuals and Cinematography, Toy Story 4 really maintained its branding to be one of the most child-friendly Animated Films Hollywood has ever made serving a decent and generous amount of comedy, thrills & lessons that could appeal not only to younger generations but across mature audiences as well.

WHAT I DON’T LIKE?

If you are expecting some epic adventure this time, Toy Story 4 may not be your cup of tea.

GENRE: Fantasy, Adventure

WHAT I LIKE?

Everything about the first ever Live Adaptation of this well-loved Classic Animation is PERFECT & MAGICAL. Aladdin is basically the love story we all admire during my younger years. It was the Fantasy of my childhood years. And yes, the live adaptation gave justice to this classic masterpiece. What I like about Aladdin is their brave move to cast a not-so-mainstream actors and actresses aside from Will Smith. Aside from that, the live adaptation captured the original content while reinventing a modern approach and minor touches with some details you loved even before. First thing, Special Effects are highly-impressive. I am really amazed on how they visualized the Kingdom where Aladdin and Jasmine lives. Also, the Magic Carpet Ride was brilliantly-done along with Abu (the joyful monkey) and of course, the Genie. The Production Number of Genie during their first meet-up of Aladdin is the movie’s most perfect and highly-entertaining part. It was a visual spectacle and it will truly be one of the books for this 2019 adaptation. The Props, Costumes & Setting were on-point and impressive. I really like the Bollywood-inspired numbers. For the Musical Part, this was also one of the movie’s strengths. It was executed well and it was very engaging & visually-compelling. Jasmine’s Speechless Song was the highlight. Acting-wise, I am pretty satisfied. Mena as Aladdin was the perfect choice. His physical appearance and impressing acting & charm really made him deserving for this role. On the other hand, Jasmine was great and epic. She was the cream and the crop of the whole movie. Her singing parts were great too. Her beauty and charm really made her worthy of the role as Jasmine. The Villain (Jafar) was also a good choice. What I loved the most is Will Smith portraying Genie. He actually proved all the doubts on him on the early announcement of the adaptation. He was entertaining and he was almost perfect for his role as Genie. Parents need not to worry for this movie too since its rated G – General Patronage. Overall as an Aladdin Fan, I am pleased and satisfied. I am so excited for the follow-up movie. I hope they would release it sooner.

WHAT I DON’T LIKE?

C’mon! Everything about the movie is either nostalgic or perfect.

WHAT I LIKE?

Ant-man and the Wasp is a worthy sequel and Marvel Movie that gave variety to the Marvel Universe. What I like about the 2nd installment of the Ant-Man Franchise is its solid foundation of follow-up story and character development that is truly necessary for it to surpass the glory and highs of the first film. The whole plot was cohesive and very engaging as it gave respect to the first film and added an impressive answers and resolutions expected of a sequel. What I love about Ant-Man and the Wasp is that it raised the bar higher in terms of visual effects and cinematography. I loved how they utilized the small-big transformer thing plus the action sequences were brilliantly-executed at most scenes. Sound Design was good too. I really like the variety and mixture of action, comedy and thrills in the entire movie. Thanks to Paul Rudd’s charm and Michael Pena’s epic scenes. The charm of Paul Rudd is still undeniably strong on the 2nd film. Of course, the chemistry with Evangeline Lilly is really good on-screen too. Their tandem in action scenes were one of the movies’ highlights. Ant-man and the Wasp offers a refreshing masterpiece for the Marvel Universe. Highly-recommended to all Marvel fans out there.

So far, everything is forgivable since I enjoyed the movie from beginning to end.

Captain Jack Sparrow faces an old nemesis named Salazar, who along with his Spanish navy ghost crew escaped from the Devil’s triangle in the pursuit to kill every pirate at sea. Jack, with the help of new allies named Henry & Carina, must seek the Trident of Poseidon in order to defeat Salazar. This movie is directed by Joachim Ronning & Espen Sandberg under Walt Disney Pictures.

Casts: Johnny Depp, Javier Bardem, Brenton Thwaites, Kaya Scodelario, Orlando Bloom, Geoffrey Rush, Kevin McNally, Stephen Graham

Genre: Action, Adventure, Science-Fiction

WHAT I LIKE?

Bringing the same adventure and fun that only Pirates of the Caribbean Series could bring – Dead Men Tell No Tales (Salazar’s revenge) will always be one of your favorites. I really like the movie. It was visually-entertaining from beginning to end. I see a great improvement in visual editing this time with superb CGI effects (which is more real this time) and very impressive production design as usual. What I love about the movie is that there’s a lot happening around. You will be glued by exciting scenes and action sequences. Lots of thrilling moments this time. I love the variety of sequences until a very great climax. The twist and turns were great. The phasing was past. In as much it should have a reference to previous films of the franchise, but Dead Men Tell No Tales could easily stand alone. The plot is overall easy to understand for this one though I believe that the whole Pirates franchise are stretched too much to acommodate new ideas and conflicts in sea adventure. This time, I loved the new characters. Johnny Depp is still as iconic and impressive as the ever lovable Captain Jack Sparrow. Also, I commend performances of Brenton and Kaya and their chemistry on-screen. I really expect them both to be on the next sequels if ever. The comeback of Javior, Orlando and Keira were also a great sight in the movie. Overall, I am impressed and this is truly worth-watching.

WHAT I DON’T LIKE?

Well, if you focus on the fun and the adventure, I think Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is great flick.
